Visitor Guidelines

To ensure a pleasant viewing experience for all, we kindly ask our guests to observe the following guidelines.

1. Please only eat and drink (including gum and drinks) in designated areas.
2. Smoking is prohibited on the premises.
3. Please use the lockers on the 1st and 7th floors or cloak room for large baggages at Information on the 1st floor.
4. Please refrain from bringing animals into the building or bringing in fresh flowers. However, guide dogs, service dogs, and hearing dogs are permitted inside the museum.
5. Prohibition of disruptive behavior
   
   • Please refrain from running, shouting, or any other behavior that may disturb other guests.
   • Please set your mobile phone to silent mode while inside the museum and refrain from talking on the phone in the exhibition rooms.
   • Please be mindful that sound leakage from headphones and camera shutter sounds may disturb other guests.
6. Bringing dangerous items into the museum is prohibited.
7. Precautions when viewing the exhibition room
   
   • Please do not touch the exhibits or display cases.
   • Please use pencils for writing inside the exhibition room. To protect the exhibits, please refrain from using ballpoint pens, felt-tip pens, fountain pens, brushes, etc.
8. Various photography (inside the museum and exhibition rooms)
   
   • Photography is only permitted inside the permanent exhibition rooms (5th and 6th floors).
   • Please note that photography is not permitted inside the special exhibition room (1st floor).
   • Photography is limited to personal enjoyment only. (For commercial purposes, please see For Press.)
   • Please be considerate when taking group photos to avoid disturbing other guests.
   • The use of monopods, tripods and lighting are not permitted.
   • Photography equipment (selfie sticks, stabilizers, gimbals, drones, etc.) are not permitted.
   • Flash photography is generally prohibited, but permitted only in designated areas. Please follow the signs.
9. Other
   
   • Please be advised that we cannot be held responsible for theft or injury occurring within the premises due to customer negligence.
   • Please keep an eye on your belongings while inside the building. If you use a locker, please be sure to lock it.
   • If you are bringing small children, please make sure they are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
   • In case of emergency, follow the instructions of the staff and emergency broadcasts.
