  • Persons holding the following certificates are admitted free of charge, along with accompanying persons (up to two persons): Shintai Shogaisha Techo (Certificate of the Physically Disabled), Ai-no-Techo (Certificate of the Intellectually Disabled), Ryoiku Techo (Certificate of Rehabilitation), Seishin Shogaisha Hoken Fukushi Techo (Certificate of the Mentally Disabled) and Hibakusha Kenko Techo (Atomic Bomb Survivor’s Certificate)
  • On the third Wednesday of every month (Silver Day), special exhibition admission is free of charge for those over 65 years old. Please present proof of your age.
  • Junior high school, High school, university, and technical school students are required to present a student ID card, and those aged 65 and over are required to present proof of age (health insurance card, driver’s license, etc.).
  • Tickets are available for purchase at the Edo-Tokyo Museum.

Eligibility for Waiver or Discount on Permanent Exhibition Admission Fee

Please be sure to bring proof in order to receive a fee waiver or discount.

  • Admission is free for preschoolers, elementary school students, and junior high school students.
  • Persons holding the following certificates are admitted free of charge, along with accompanying persons (up to two persons): Shintai Shogaisha Techo (Certificate of the Physically Disabled), Ai-no-Techo (Certificate of the Intellectually Disabled), Ryoiku Techo (Certificate of Rehabilitation), Seishin Shogaisha Hoken Fukushi Techo (Certificate of the Mentally Disabled) and Hibakusha Kenko Techo (Atomic Bomb Survivor’s Certificate) (Please present your disability certificate when entering the building.)
  • Elementary, junior high, and high school students in Tokyo and their accompanying chaperones may view the permanent exhibition free of charge as part of educational activities. (Prior approval is required. For more information, please see "For school group visits.")
  • Sumida Hokusai Museum (ticket stub), JR Otona no Kyujitsu Club (membership card), Japan Automobile Federation (membership card), Chika Toku (1-day pass), etc.

Silver Day

Admission to the permanent exhibition is free for people aged 65 or over on the third Wednesday of every month (Silver Day). (The admission fee for the special exhibition is decided per exhibition.)

Family Day

On the third Saturday of every month and the following Sunday (Family Day), up to two guardians accompanying children under 18 residing in Tokyo can enjoy half-price admission to the permanent exhibition.
(Please present proof that the guardian is a resident of Tokyo.)
