Collection policy

The Edo-Tokyo Museum, which opened in March 1993, has actively collected, preserved, and managed materials related to the history, daily life and folk customs, and culture and arts of Edo-Tokyo as a specialized museum of urban history. It utilizes these diverse museum materials for purposes such as exhibitions, studies and research, and educational outreach.

The "Edo-Tokyo Museum Digitalwindow open" section introduces the museum's collection of museum materials.

The "Tokyo Museum Collection (Tokyo Metropolitan Museums / Art Museums Collection Search)window open" allows you to search across the collections of six metropolitan museums and art museums, including us.

Use of reference images

Images from the museum's collection are available for loan for commercial use for a fee.
Please confirm the name and material number (8 digits) of the material you wish to use in the "Collection Search" and contact DNP Art Communications Co., Ltdwindow open.
